Discovery Center Hosts

Municipality of Central Manitoulin – Providence Bay, ON

We are searching for two (2) discovery center hosts. Employees are expected to work 35 to 40 hours per week. The seasonal contract begins June 27th and ends September 30th, 2022. 

Duties include the following: 

The Hosts are responsible for providing educational tools such as videos and demonstrations for children and youth programs, as well as other members of the public that will visit the Center. The Hosts will organize displays provided by Science North all while developing and nurturing live plants, animals and fish displays. The Hosts are expected to keep the Center clean organized and safe for all those that visit.

Skills Required: 

Students in this position will be helping members of the community and visiting vacationers. It is important for them to understand they represent the Municipality and it is our objective to ensure that all clients using our service are treated with he upmost respect. Whether the student is helping a visitor at one of our facilities or attractions, a child in their care or parents of these children, the student must show professionalism, knowledge, patience and helpfulness. We are searching for five (5) camp counselors and activity instructors who will work 35 hours per week. 

Duties include the following:

Camp Staff provide our campers with the best and safest camp experience possible, while also enjoying camp themselves.
